Enable record-level security for a system table and field

Enable record-level security for a Data Dictionary system table, then for the data field associated with that table.

The following data fields and their associated Data Dictionary system tables are set up for record-level security by default:

To enable a Data Dictionary system table and data field for record-level security:

  1. Log on to the District view.
  2. Click the Admin tab, Data Dictionary side-tab.
  3. Click the Tables side-tab.
  4. Select the system table that appeared in the DataTable > DBName column on the reference table fields page.
  5. Click Details.
  6. From the Default Template drop-down, select Default Fields.
  7. Select the Enable record level security checkbox, and click Save:
  1. On the Table side-tab, click Fields. The fields associated with this Data Dictionary system table appear.
  2. Select and open the field that you want to enable for record-level security.
  3. From the Default Template drop-down, select Default Fields.
  4. Select the Enable record level security checkbox, and click Save:
  1. From the Default Template drop-down, select Default Template.
  2. Look at the Reference Table > User name field. Note the name of the reference table that appears. If the field is blank, enter a reference table to associate with this system table field.
  3. Note: A reference code must be associated with this reference table to enable record-level security.

  1. Click Save.
  2. Reload the Data Dictionary.

Then you can set up record-level security for the reference table associated with the field.
