Allow users to mass-enter assessment data

By default, Aspen system administrators and school administrators have permission to enter assessment information for groups of students.

In order for other users, such as teachers, to have this privilege, you have to modify their user role, or assign them an additional user role that includes the required privileges.

Note: Before entering assessment scores, the teacher selects a specific assessment from a drop-down. To reduce the number of assessments that appear there, you can align assessments to specific courses. That way, teachers can select from assessments that are associated with their courses.

To modify a user’s privileges to enter assessment information for groups of students:

  1. Log on to the District view.
  2. Click the Admin tab, and then click the Security side-tab. The Roles page appears
  3. Find and click the name of the user role you want to modify. The roles details page appears.
  4. In the Security Access area of the page, click the Category drop-down to select Student. The Student system tables appear:
  1. In the System Table column, go to the Student row. Make sure the Read (R) checkbox is selected.
  2. In the Student Assessment row, select the Create (C), Read (R), and Update (U) checkboxes. If you want to give users the ability to delete student assessments, select the Delete (D) checkbox.
  3. Click Save.
