Refine a school calendar

The district calendar sets boundaries for school calendars. If a district or intermediate organization defines a day as not in-session, schools cannot define that day as in-session. However, if the district or intermediate organization defines a day as in-session, schools can define that school is not in-session that day at that school.

Also, districts create only one calendar each school year; schools can create several. For example, the high school might have three calendars – one for freshmen who begin school two days early for orientation, one for sophomores and juniors, and one for seniors who graduate in early June.
