Create houses

Houses are smaller schools within a school. Large schools often use houses to create smaller and more manageable student communities with separate administrative divisions. For example, some schools might have a blue house and a white house – each with its own principal and attendance office.

You can create houses to assign to students. Then, when you define build scenario preferences, you determine that when you build your master schedule, the system enrolls those students in course sections you assign to a house.

To create houses:

  1. Log on to the Build view.
  2. Click the Global tab.
  3. Click the Reference side-tab. A list of schedule-building related reference tables appear.
  4. Find and select the House Codes reference table.
  5. On the Reference side-tab, click Codes.
  6. On the Options menu, click Add.
  7. Define the information for the house code.
  8. Click Save.
  9. Repeat steps 5-8 for each house you want to create.

Now, you can assign students to a house before you build your master schedule.
